- Technical & on-page SEO
- Off-page authority building
At a glance
- Client: KV Construction, an Ottawa general contractor
- Service: Website build and SEO from scratch
- Timeline: 4-month results window
- Result: 60,000 organic impressions and multiple inbound jobs worth over $40,000 each
The challenge
KV Construction did great work. But online, they didn’t exist. There was no website and no organic traffic.
Every job came from referrals and word of mouth. That works until it doesn’t. Homeowners searching for a contractor in Ottawa had no way to find them, and competitors were picking up those searches by default.
We weren’t fixing a site. We were starting from a blank slate.
Our approach
Built a lead-generating website on React and Next.js. We designed the site around one job: turning searchers into enquiries. Clear calls to action, fast load times and a simple path to request a quote. Next.js gave us a fast, modern foundation that search engines can crawl easily, with room to scale as the content grew.
Launched a batch of 30+ service pages. Instead of one generic services page, we built more than 30 dedicated pages covering the specific services homeowners actually search for. Each page targeted its own set of keywords and search intent. This gave Google a clear, relevant page to rank for each type of job, and gave homeowners content that matched exactly what they needed.

Tightened up technical and on-page SEO. We made sure every page was built to rank from day one. That meant clean site structure, optimized titles and meta descriptions, logical internal linking between related services, schema markup and strong page speed.
Built authority with off-page SEO. A new domain has no trust with Google. We worked to build it through quality backlinks and pillar link building, giving the site the signals it needed to compete with established contractors.
The results
Over a recent 4-month period, the site earned 60,000 organic impressions. From no website to steady visibility for the searches that matter.

More importantly, the traffic turned into real business. KV Construction received inbound enquiries for high-value jobs worth over $40,000 each. Projects that previously would have gone to whoever showed up in search.
Key takeaways
You don’t need years of history to compete in search. A well-built site with the right structure can gain traction quickly.
Depth beats breadth on a single page. Dedicated service pages let you rank for dozens of specific searches instead of hoping one page covers everything.
For contractors, a single job from search can pay for the entire website many times over.
